FRANKENSTEIN
Brief
In Assignment 1, our task was to conduct precedent studies of various buildings and creatively combine their elements to design a unique "Frankenstein" building. For my project, I drew inspiration from the Horizon Building to shape my Frankenstein design. Additionally, we were required to construct a large-scale model of our site, ensuring the preservation of the existing historical building while integrating new structures around it. The first review of this assignment assessed our design proposal in relation to its formal ideas, design, spatial/organizational concepts, and response to the given site conditions. This stage required a basic resolution of the brief and a thoughtful response to the site and related readings.

Self Reflection
The importance of integrating diverse architectural elements into a cohesive design. The challenge of creating a "Frankenstein" building using elements from the Horizon Building taught me how to merge different styles and concepts creatively. Constructing a large-scale model that preserved the historical building while introducing new structures enhanced my appreciation for balancing innovation with historical preservation. The first review process, which assessed formal ideas, design, spatial/organizational concepts, and site response, highlighted the necessity of thoroughly resolving the brief and understanding site conditions. This project significantly improved my ability to synthesize architectural influences and address complex design challenges thoughtfully.
